Sylvester married a third time in Bath on 17 Nov 1868 to Mrs. Sarah M Warren Daniels, daughter of Phineas Warren and Mary Ann Freeland Bean; widow of Kendrick Daniels.
At the time of their marriage he was the owner with Chauncey Hayes of the HAYES & BRAMBLE Grist Mill: Dealers in flour and feed. It doesn't appear that Sylvester & Sarah stayed together - In 1875 they are together in Prattsburgh, with his son Theodore and her daughter Daina Benton Daniels; by 1880 he went west to stay with Cole Family cousins and she stayed in Bath.
By 1892 he was living in Pulteney and Sarah moved to Binghamton and stayed with her daughter Daina, now wife of Edward Eugene Wilgus; she then returned to Prattsurgh, staying for a while with the Quigley family on Mechanic Street until her return to Bath where she died 26 Oct 1902.
Sylvester was admitted 20 Oct 1894 to the Steuben County Almshouse in Bath, citing poor health and loss of property;
Sylvester died 9 Mar 1904 in Bath at the Steuben County Home and was brought back to Prattsburgh for burial on 11 Mar 1904.
