Born in Buffalo Gap Texas to John Greene and Jessie "Neal" Jackson he was one of 5 children (one sibling died in infancy the other as a one year old child) , he came to Oregon with his parents in the 1920"s where they settled in Marion County where his father started a small dairy farm. The family later moved to the Vernonia area where Willie worked for the railroad. May 18 1930 in Portland Oregon he married my grandmother Helen Francis Murray, they lived in Vernonia until sometime before 1950. Newspaper articles about my Fathers service in the Marine Corps during the Korean War mention Willie and Helen as being Salem residents. Later Willie and Helen relocated to the Scappoose area then moved back into Portland where both He and my grandmother would live the remainder of their lives.
