HENDERSON, Betty (Mrs. Norman) Passed away peacefully, at the Village of Winston Park Nursing Home, Kitchener, on Wednesday, July 23, 2008, with her beloved daughters by her side. Kathleen Eliza "Betty" was born February 5, 1926, in England and married Harry August Arndt in Blackmore, England, on July 7, 1945. She came to Canada as a War Bride in 1947. Harry passed away August 13, 1951. Betty married Norman Campbell Henderson on January 27, 1955. Norman passed away November 16, 1997. Loving mother of Carol Schedewitz (nee Arndt) and Dianne Peterson (nee Arndt) and her husband Jerry, all of Kitchener. Will be greatly missed by her five grandchildren, Jeff Peterson and his wife Linda of Waterloo, Jennifer Craven and her husband Jim of Orangeville, Jason Schedewitz and his wife Charlotte, Jarid Peterson and his wife Brenda, Joe Peterson and Teryn Bradley, all of Kitchener; four great-grandchildren, Jasper and Cooper Peterson, Evan Schedewitz and Ayrial Peterson. Betty is survived by two sisters, Maggie Flegg and Hilda Pike of England and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Lillian Melitzer, Lil and Bob Arndt, Randy Randall, Charles and Marjorie Arndt, Marg and Frank Vettor, Peter and Sheila Arndt, Paul Arndt, Grace and Robert Leis, Eva Billings, Isabel (Peggy) Hill and by her many nieces, nephews and their families. Predeceased by her parents, Albert and Lillian Blackwell; two brothers, Bob and Jack and four sisters, Gladys, Bella, Joan and Mary; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Helen Randall, Lorraine and Leo Steffler, Jean Arndt, Joyce Arndt, Orvell Billings, Marv and Dorothy Deller, Jack Hill, Homer and Laura Henderson. The family will receive their friends and relatives at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. At 9 a.m. on Saturday, July 26, transfer will be made to the Gale Presbyterian Church, Elmira for funeral service at 11 a.m. with The Rev. Dr. Linda J. Bell officiating followed by interment in the Elmira Union Cemetery.
