Son of Joe L. & Ella (CALLAWAY) BARROW. Married Ella GARRETT. Note that Ernest's sister Minnie Olivia BARROW married Euegene E. GARRETT, Sr.

"W. ERNEST BARROW DIES IN WEST POINT [sic - died in Lanett, AL] // Columbus friends of W. Ernest BARROW have learned with much regret of his death, which took place at his home at West Point, Ga. [actually Lanett, AL], yesterday morning at seven o'clock. Mr. BARROW had been in ill health for some time. // The deceased was one of the prominent business men of West Point and also had extensive planting interested in that section. He was 53 years of age. // Surviving Mr. BARROW are his wife, who was Miss Ella GARRETT, of Columbus; four children, Mrs. Edgar D[uncan] BURTS [Jr.], of Columbus, and Ernest, Jr., Sarah and Frank BARROW, of West Point; and several brothers. Mr. and Mrs. BUTTS [sic - BURTS] were with him when the end came, having been summoned to West Point by a message announcing his critical illness. // The funeral service will be conducted at West Point this morning at ten o'clock. After the service, the remains will be brought to Columbus, and interment will be in Linwood cemetery." [Columbus (GA) Enquirer-Sun newspaper, Thursday, 09 DEC 1926, p. 8.]

BARROW, married male, died aged 52 years at West Point, GA [sic - at Lanett, AL] of spinal meningitis; buried 09 DEC 1936 by undertaker [Charlton Lafayette] TORBETT, reference local death certificate #2401A - Sexton W. B. M.; remarks: DISININTERRED to West Point on 20 SEP 1944.
