Leroy Myron Melvin was the son of Ardie Melvin and Mary Eugenia (Ellis) Melvin. He was born in Hartstown, Pennsylvania and died in Belvedere, Los Angeles Co., California. He served in the army during the Philippine Insurrection and was wounded during that conflict. He married Addie E. Miller March 15, 1904 in Los Angeles. They had six children. Eunice, Walter Edward, Mary Gertrude, Maude Bessie, James Leroy, and Bertha Melvin
