Joe, 26 years old, was tragically killed in a bad automobile accident, his truck going off the road and rolling several times. He lived a full and happy, albeit short life, and he touched the hearts of all he ever met. Anyone who met him just loved him and was drawn to him. He was a loving, fun person with a magnetic personality, and an amazing gift for joy. Lil' Joe loved hunting, fishing, camping, being with his boys, and his dad, Joe, and visited his extensive family members very often. He loved his family and they were very important to him, as were his friends. He and his dad were best friends and buddies, and they spent a lot of time together hunting, fishing, camping, shooting guns, building things, and just hanging out together. Joe had many talents, and could do just about anything. He was taking his toys apart and putting them back together at age 3 - ever curious, always wanting to know how things worked. If you needed help with something, he was right there for you.

Joe went to McKinney schools and had graduated from McKinney High School. He had various jobs, but the last one was with the family plumbing company in Plano.

Everyone who met 'Lil Joe, was captivated by his great personality, ready smile, and his love of life, which always shone through. He was always ready to have fun, liked to go fast, and have a good time. He was always the one they had frying catfish for all the parties and family gatherings. He was always the life of the party, and kept everyone laughing and happy. He and his Uncle Mike Miles loved to fish together and always had a freezer full of catfish available!

He is sorely missed by all who knew him. His funeral was jammed full to overflowing out into the hall and onto the porch in front of the building. A true tribute to the many lives he touched and was held dear by.

Lil Joe was laid to rest in this cemetary, but there is also a memorial plot on the family land in the Hill Country in Mills county, on a bluff overlooking a valley and the hills, where his deer stand was. His dad made it for him, and we visit it a lot. That was where he wished his remains to be. The roadside memorial made by cousins and friends on the country road where he had his accident is filled to overflowing with home-made crosses, floral tributes and other memoriabelia left by those who loved him and miss him.

(his siblings, nieces & nephews called him "Bubba", and his father, aunts, uncles and cousins called him "Lil' Joe").
