Deceased was employed at the B. & O. shops and was well known among the railroad men.
In addition to his widow he is survived by one daughter and two sons.
Deceased was a B. & O. pensioner and was employed in the yards as a carpenter for about 30 years. He retired from active work about three years ago. He was aged 69 years, and was born Novemeber 21, 1841. At the outbreak of the Civil War he enlisted with Company E, Fourth Maryland Volunteers, and served for three years. He was a son of the late John and Miranda Pickett of Carroll county, Md., and spent his boyhood days in Maryland. He was twice married. His first wife was Miss Susanna Shipley. To this union five children were born, the following of whom survive: Mrs. Casper Blasey, Mrs. Alice Stoner of Dickerson Run;, Mrs. Clara Orbin of Dawson, and Roderick A. Pickett, of Duhring, W. Va. His first wife died 27 years ago and several years after her death he married Miss Hannah Tedrow of Normalville. To this union three children were born, all of whom survive. They are Mae, Ralph and Braden, all at home. Notice of funeral later.
