Joy Nell Hardy age 64 of Mena, died Monday, January 30, 2012 at her home. She was born on Thursday, November 27, 1947 to Martin Luther and Dorothy Faye Royal Bradley in Chickasha, Oklahoma.

Joy graduated from Lockney High School in Lockney, Texas. After high school she continued her education and attended Southwestern Oklahoma State in Weatherford, Oklahoma where she received her Bachelor's Degree. She started a 20 year career in Education and taught from 1986-1987 at Hatfield and then moved to the Mena Schools in 1987. Joy, then at the age of 40 decided to go back to college, this time to Henderson in Arkadelphia and get her Master's Degree. Joy retired from teaching in 2000. She was a special teacher and being such, she taught the special needs children. They were her life and she loved every single one of them. Joy enjoyed spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren. Joy was a member of the Hatfield Church of Christ. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She will be missed by all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her husband, Clarence Hardy of the home; one son and daughter -in-law, Lanny and Amanda Hardy of Blanchard, Oklahoma; one brother Van Bradley of Lockney, Texas; two sisters, Gay Huddleston of Sapulpa, Oklahoma and Glee O'Banion of Lubbock, Texas; two grandchildren, Kayla and Landon Hardy both of Blanchard, Oklahoma; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be Friday, February 3, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. at the Bowser Family Funeral Home Chapel in Mena with Ron Broussard officiating. Interment will follow in the Pinecrest Memorial Park in Mena. Visitation will be Thursday, February 2, 2011 from 6-8 P.M.
