Weeping Water (Special)—Simon L. Brant, son of Emery and Lucinda (Parish) Brant, was born September 2, 1901 at Elmwood, Nebraska. He died January 27, 1973 in Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 71.
He was united in marriage March 3, 1926, at Lincoln to Mabel V. Lemke.
He was a shovel operator for United Mineral until his retirement several years ago.
Si, as he was known to all of his friends, had lived in the Nebraska communities of Weeping Water and Elmwood all his life.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of the home; son Kenneth of DePere, Wisconsin, and three grandchildren.

Funeral was January 30 at the funeral home, the Rev. Gilbert Yerian officiating. Organist was Mrs. Maurice Hammons; soloist Mrs. Bill Duff.
Pallbearers were Irving Patterson, Eugene Domingo, Marvin Pilfold, Dwight Rector, Wayne Wiles and Ivan Rector.
Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery.
