"Otis Tyler Williams was born at Dallas, Ouray county, Colorado, May 13, 1894, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Williams. The family moved to San Miguel county when he was two years old and there he grew to manhood and engaged in mining, which occupation he followed practically all his life. He was married to Mrs. Emma A. Williams in Telluride in October, 1917. He enlised in the U. S. Army August 7, 1918, from which he held an honorable discharge.

He made his home in or near Cedaredge for the last 17 years. The last two winters he spent in Arizona for the benefit of failing health. He was a member in good standing of the Odd Fellows lodge and was a Past Grand of Crystal Fount lodge of Ouray. He was also a member of the American Legion of Ouray.

He passed away June 9, 1940, at Cedaredge at the age of 46 years and 27 days. He leaves to mourn his loss: Mrs. Pearl Stoll, step-daughter of Park City, Utah; Mrs. Lenore Champlin of Wilson mesa; and Amy and Ethel, daughters, of Cedaredge; Emma Williams, wife, and one sister, Mrs. J. H. Jackson, Gunnison, Colo.; four brothers, Carl of Montrose, Joe of Delta, Jim of Cedaredge, and Percy of Chow Chilla, Calif; all of whom were present at the funeral, with the exception of his sister, who was unable to come because of illness.

Funeral services were held at the Community church Wednesday afternoon with Dr. C. S. Defandorf officiating. Odd Fellows conducted ritualistic rites at the grave side in the Cedaredge cemetery."

The above obituary was found with my mother's (Amy Williams Phillips) things. There was no indication given of which newspaper printed it.
