Mr. E. W. Chapman died at his home, five miles from Jernigan, in this county on last Saturday evening at 6 o'clock, after a lingering illness, with a disease of the kidneys.
Mr. Chapman was seventy odd years old at the time of his death and was among the oldest citizens of the county. Although he was not a member of the church, he was a good man, and his death is deeply regretted by the people in the community in which he lived.
He leaves a wife and one daughter to whom the REGISTER tenders its sympathy in this dark hour of affliction.
