Irene Burciaga Pitts, 74, passed away on January 30, 2012. She was born in Houston, Texas on January 6, 1938 to Manuel and Concepcion Burciaga. Irene is survived by her husband of 56 years, Horace L. Pitts; children, Sherry Elston and Wayne Pitts and wife Pamela; siblings, Mary Crowe, Manuel Burciaga, Lewis Burciaga, and Johnny Burciaga; sister-in-law, Juanita Lindvall and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who will be missed dearly. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 1, 2012 from 4 PM to 7 PM at Woodlawn Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 2, 2012 at 11 AM in the chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Woodlawn Garden of Memories.
