Archie Boles, 87, Wasco, CA.

Archie Junior Boles was born in Viola, Arkansas on August 20, 1924 to Archie and Edna (Grisso) Boles. He came to California in 1952 and married Dorothy (Weatherford) Boles on December 28, 1974 in Porterville, California. He worked as a laborer on the Northfork and Bowl dams in his early career, and then worked for Harris Ranch at Five Points, but the majority of his life he spent bailing hay and ginning cotton. Archie was the type of man that could fix anything, a real jack of all trades. In his spare time Archie loved fishing and hunting on his many camping trips. He also had quite a green thumb, and loved gardening, but his biggest joy was spending time with his time with grandkids.

Archie is preceded in death by his parents; one son, Joey Lee Boles; a daughter, Nancy Kay Boles; his brother, Harvey Boles; and sisters, Johnnie Boles and Pauline Bales. He is survived by his loving wife Dorothy Boles; sons, Ritchie Boles and wife Phyllis, Roy Boles and wife Patsy, Johnny Ray Boles, Robert Grantham and wife Judy, Barry Grantham and wife Cynthia; 8 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren with another on the way.

A graveside service under the direction of Peters Funeral Home will be held on Wednesday, February 1, 2012 beginning at 11am at Shafter Memorial Park, for Archie Junior Boles age 87, of Wasco, who passed away on January 27, 2012. Pastor Terry Ruddell will officiate the service and interment will follow.
