Samuel Albert Rushton, 82, of the Oneida Trailer Court, died Monday of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

He was born Nov. 7, 1893, in Old Eagle Rock, now Idaho Falls, the son of Edwin and Julia Septerie Ericsen Rushton. He attended schools here and has lived all of his life in this area.

He worked for the railroad and has done farm work. He had a natural talent for art and had some some writing.

He never married.

Mr. Rushton served in the Air Force in WWI from 1917 to 1918. He also served in the Marines in WWII.

He is survived by a niece, Mrs. Mike (Evelyn) Lempke of Idaho Falls; many other nieces in the area; and brother, Dick Rushton of Idaho Falls.
