Dora E. Clancy was born in Missouri, the daughter of Joseph Nichols and Matilda (or Mabelda) Phelps per her Nov. 11, 1904 marriage certificate. Dora married John E. Clancy at Walla Walla, Washington, in 1904 at the age of 31 which would place her birth year at about 1873. The 1910 census however listed her age as 34 and one child had been born, but the child was not listed in the census nor in the 1920 census which listed her age as 44 and in the 1930 census she was listed as 56 years old. She died on Nov. 3, 1934 and was buried with her husband at Ft. Riley Post Cemetery.
