TRINITY - Mrs. Hazel Virginia Saunders Albertson, 75, of Albertson Farm Road, died Sunday, July 2, 2000, at her residence, after five years of declining health.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 5, 2000, at the Chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service, Archdale, with the Rev. Chris J. Bennett officiating. Interment will follow in Hopewell United Methodist Church Cemetery.

She was born Dec. 20, 1924, in Guilford County, a daughter of John and Elizabeth Poe Saunders. Mrs. Albertson had been a resident of Trinity for most of her life and graduated from Trinity High School. She was retired from Albertson Auction & Reality Co., where she was the secretary and treasurer. She was a member of Hopewell United Methodist Church, Methodist Women and Sunday school. In October of 1942, she married Basil Albertson, who survives of the residence. She was preceded in death byboth of her parents and one son, Thomas Albertson.

Surviving in addition to her husband are five sons, Basil Albertson Jr. and wife, Gail of Trinity, Ronnie Albertson and wife, Julia of Trinity, Jim Albertson and wife, Pat of Archdale, Tony Albertson of San Francisco, Calif., and John Albertson and wife, Lisa of Greensboro; one daughter, Mrs. Jay (Linda) Hohn of Randleman; one sister, Mrs. Bob (Helen) Piefke of St. Simon, Ga.; one brother, Bob Saunders and wife, Lawanda of Memphis, Tenn.; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 4, 2000, at the funeral home and other times at the residence.
