John L. Wise, 79, retired grain and coal dealer of this city, passed away at St.
Joseph's Hospital at Highland, April 18, 1945.
John Logan wise, son of late E. B. and Lestina (Coburn) Wise was born in
Wisetown December 3, 1865, the town of Wisetown being named after the Wise
family.
Mr. Wise was twice married, his first wife being Nannie Ridgway, whom he married
January 18, 18??. To this union was born one daughter, Lettie Wise of St.
Louis. The wife and mother passing away in 1903. Mr. Wise's second marriage
was to Mrs. Ethel E. Harrison of Nevada, Missouri on October 24, 1911 and she
with on step-daughter, Mrs. Harold Duvall of Kansas City and one step-son, Ralph
Harrison of Portsmouth, Ohio survives. He is also survived by one brother, D. A.
Wise of East Moline and one half-brother, Earnest E. Wise of this city.
