BEATRICE HOLLAND
Mrs. Beatrice (Bea) Holland, 80, of Whitney died Saturday, February 7, 2004, at a Whitney hospital. She was born August 23, 1923, in Hill County, daughter of John H. and Willie L. Duncan Bennett. She lived in Hill County all of her life and graduated from Whitney High School. She married Billy Holland July 7, 1941, and he preceded her in death May 3, 1996. She owned and operated a café in Whitney for several years and then worked for Brookshire’s Grocery in the deli department for many years. She was preceded in death by one son, Gene Holland, May 12, 2003. Survivors include: one son, Ronnie Holland and wife, Elaine, of Mexia; one sister, Louise Carroll of Whitney; one granddaughter; three great-grandchildren; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 10, 2004, at Whitney Memorial Park with Johnny Pelham officiating.
