Joseph J. Dallas, 57, route 4, died at a local hospital early this morning following a brief illness.
Born April 22, 1896, at Stiles, he was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Dallas. He was employed for 30 years by the Wisconsin Public Service gas maintenance department. Mr. Dallas was a veteran of World War I and served in the Army in France. He was a member of the First Methodist church, VFW, and the Theodore Roosevelt Masonic lodge No. 322. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna, June 11.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. George Gerber, route 4, Mrs. Edmund DeKeyser, Pulaski, and Mrs. John Harkins, Green Bay; one son, Charles, route 5; one sister, Mrs. Pearl Shellhammer, Blackwell; two stepbrothers, Fred Villeis, Rio Creek, and Louis Bodart, Milwaukee; one foster brother, Victor Tryion, Kaukauna, and two foster sisters, Mrs. Jane Kirby, Menasha, and Mrs. Tracy Tryion, Green Bay, and six grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Findeisen-Greiser funeral home from 7 o'clock this evening until 11:30 Wednesday morning, when the body will be taken to the First Methodist church. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 Wednesday afternoon with he Rev. W. A. Riggs officiating. Burial, with Masonic rites and VFW military services, will be held in the Fort Howard cemetery.
