Daughter of William & Mary Ann (Crafts) Purdy. Mrs. Howell died at the family residence following an extended illness. She resided in Ogden her entire life, marrying there September 25, 1894. She was active in the L.D.S. church and belonging to the tabernacle choir for many years.

She was survived by her husband William C. Howell, a former Ogden merchant, as well as six brothers and sisters: William E. Purdy of Los Angeles; Frank A. Purdy of Pocatello, Idaho; Mrs. Harry Bagley, Mrs. Walter Hoyt, Eugene C. and Alvert S. Purdy - all of Ogden.

Funeral services were held on Friday 10 May 1935 in the L.D.S. Second ward chapel with Bishop Frank C. Simmons conducting.
