Frances G. VANHORN (CARNS) September 29, 1930, ~ June 12, 2008, Frances Van Horn (nee Carns) age 77, of Mount Lake Terrace, WA completed her life-long journey to be with our Lord on Thursday, June 12, 2008, at Evergreen Hospice Center in Kirkland, WA. Frances was born on September 29, 1930, in Sequim, WA to James and Fannie Belle Carns (nee Glover) and resided in Carnation, WA. She married Richard N. Hancasky in 1948, sharing 29 years of love and devotion with him while residing in Lemont, IL. She leaves behind three children, Debra Durham (Hancasky), Richard J. (Karen) Hancasky, and Linda A. (Garnett) Breeding; devoted brother, James L. (Britta) Carns; and loving sisters, Elizabeth Boze (Carns), Elinor (Gene) Dodd, and Teresa Carns; her grandchildren, Carrie and Kevin Durham, Andrew and Matthew Hancasky, Richard, Eric, Angela, and Amanda Breeding; great-grandson, Nicholas A. Durham; and many nieces and nephews. In July 1979, she was married to James Van Horn and returned to the Seattle area where she resided until her death. Frances touched so many lives in so many ways that she will be cherished and loved forever. She will be remembered by her family and friends for her love of classical music and the quick wit that remained during her final days and provided so much comfort. She will be missed but never forgotten. A celebration of her life will be held at a memorial service on Tuesday, June 17 at 1:30 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 6215 196th SW, Lynnwood, WA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Evergreen Healthcare Foundation 12040 N.E. 128th St, MS #5 Kirkland, WA 98034-3013.
