The Last Sad Duties
On Monday, the 30th of March, the funeral of the late Mrs. Samuel Lamont took place from the residence in the Second ward. The services were conducted by Rev. W.A. McAtee. The choir, composed of the Mrs. DeMoe, Mrs. Pound, and Messrs. Bross and Bruce. They sang the favorite pieces of deceased.
The remains were taken to the town of Verona, the former home, and laid at rest by the side of the remains of a son. The procession was one of the largest ever seen in this section and a very great many old friends were found there.
