Margaret Martínez, age 98, a lifetime resident of Albuquerque passed away on Friday, January 27, 2012, with her loving family at her side.
Margaret is survived by her children, Lupe Adams, Richard Martínez and his wife, Julia and Geraldine Wiest and her husband, Art, her son-in-law, David Lyons, five grandchildren, Judy Cole and her husband, Rick, Susan Martínez, Rick Martínez, Amanda Linebarger and her husband, Patrick and Paul Martínez, 13 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren and many other extended family members.
Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Manuel Martínez, her daughter, Frances Lyons and her grandson, Randy Casaus.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, January 31, 2012 from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1860 Griegos Rd. NW, with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. by Deacon Manuel Montoya. Final visitation will be on Wednesday, February 1, 2012 from 10:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Rick Martínez, Paul Martínez, Manuel Martínez, Michael Griego, John Martínez and Patrick Linebarger. Honorary pallbearers will be Judy Cole, Susan Martínez and Amanda Linebarger.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff at Vista Care Hospice and to Michael Dunn and Annette Martínez for the gentle care given to their mother.
