A host of friends will be grieved to learn of the untimely death of Orvin Madson which occurred this morning at his home at 1006 Dunham street, about eight o'clock. His death follows a long illness which has lasted for eleven weeks and during which he has made a bitter struggle for life.
The death is especially sad as Mr. Madson was just twenty nine years old.
He was taken ill with the flu a number of weeks ago and for a week he seemed to get along fairly well. Serious complications set in later which affected his brain and for weeks he has been suffering a great deal.
At times he seemed to improve and then would take to improve and then he would take a turn for the worse.Every care was given him but he was not able to overcome the malady.
Mr. Madson is well known here by a large circle of friends.
He was born and raised in Albert Lea. For a number of years he has been working with the M. & St. L. railroad locomotive repair department.
During the war he was in the army and was located in Camp Forrest in Georgia during his enlistment.
He is a member of the First Lutheran Church.
Besides his wife he leaves his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carl O. Madson of Winter Street and the following sisters and brothers, Mrs. F.L. Barneck of Madison St., Mrs. John Schad Jr. of Hope, Minnesota, Oldas Madson at home, Mrs. Keith Herr of Washington St., Netta and Agnes Madson and Ernest Madson also at home.
The funeral services are to be held on Friday afternoon at one thirty from the home and at two from the First Lutheran church. Interment is to be made at Lakewood cemetery.
