Mrs. Myrtle Virginia Muse Mitchell, 92, went to be with her Lord with her family by her side.

She was a longtime member of First Lutheran Church.

She retired as the Director of Nursing and Assistant Administrator of Hillcrest South Nursing Home in 1998.

Since her retirement she was extremely active with her family and friends. She loved traveling and was a hospital volunteer.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Barry Mitchell, parents William Thomas Walker Muse and Mary Alverda Greear Muse, her brothers, James Greear Muse, William Joseph Muse and John Henry Muse, sisters, Mary Sue Muse Mount and Marjorie Ellen Muse Brockman.

She is survived by her daughters, Melodie Mitchell Wilkey (Herbert) of Nashville, IL and Greear Mitchell Trew of Memphis, TN, son, Barry Muse Mitchell (Sandra) of Maryville, TN, grandchildren, Victoria Wilkey and her friend Kathleen Spencer, Nashville, IL, Angela Wilkey Dunbar (Troy), Nashville, IL, Lori Trew Regis (Eric), Atoka, TN, Rebecca Trew Pedersen (Rick), Chicago, IL, Megan Mitchell, Knoxville, TN, great-grandchildren, Mitchell Mathes (Ashleah), Marion, IL, Parrish Dunbar, Nashville, IL, Madelyn and Steven Regis, Atoka, TN, her sister-in law Mrs. Trula Muse of Mountain City, TN, extended family Missy Johnson, Hayley Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. Jason Chambers (Angie), Jake and Lily Chambers and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at Smith Trinity Chapel.

Interment was in Mountain View Cemetery in Mountain City, TN.
