David Bosley was the son of Priscilla Bosley, and the grandson of James Bosley who migrated from Frederick Co, Md, in ca. 1790 to Hampshire Co, Va. David's Grant County death record shows Priscilla Bosley as his mother. Census records indicate David was raised as a Bosley by Priscilla and Benjamin Evans.

The grave site for David Bosley, his wife Anna, and daughter Susanna, can be found on the east side of the mountain near Laurel Dale, WV, about a mile south of Damsite 14.

A monument was placed there about 1937, by David's grandson Alkire Ellsworth Bosley. The marker reads " Here Lies BOSLEY, David, Anna MacCauley, Susanna". It appears that this monument was to replace the remains of the old grave markers, since a few small stone markers can be found in the undergrowth as of (1997)

The marriage license for David Bosley and Anna McCauley can be found in the Hampshire Co. Court House, dated March 8, 1822, marked $2.00 paid for the license.
