SAN ANGELO - Rose Zimmerman Kuester, 100 years young, passed away peacefully on Nov. 29, 2014, in her home surrounded by loved ones.

Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2014, in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens with James Hassell officiating under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.

Rose was born Oct. 5, 1914, in Bartlett, Texas, to Frank and Louise Zimmerman.

She married Vernon Kuester on Sept. 8, 1934 in Houston, Texas. They were married 68 years at the time of his passing in 2002.

She is survived by her sister, Lucile Finn; and brother Pete Zimmerman; along with nieces and nephews. Also left to cherish her memory is Mike Doak, who was like a brother to Rose for many years.

Rose lived her life to the fullest, celebrating her 100th birthday at the Texas State Fair. She remained in her home to the very end thanks to her wonderful caregivers, Lisa Goetz, Diane Irwin and Juanita Barrera. Rose had a special place in her heart for her angel, Stephanie Bird, who was by her side for nearly 15 years.

Rose was a wonderful Christian lady who always lived for her Saviour, Jesus Christ. She taught everyone to love God, love each other, how to forgive and to just simply do good in this world. She blessed each person she met in her 100 years on this earth. She was a true inspiration to all who knew her and will be greatly missed.

Special thanks to her doctors; Vayden Stanley, Raj Cheruku and Toyha Harper along with their staff for always taking such good care of her. Also thanks to Hospice of San Angelo for the wonderful care during her last week.

Memorials may be made to the Hospice of San Angelo, 36 E Twohig Ave, San Angelo, TX 76903.
