Hulda was born Feb. 24, 1907, in Eschol, the daughter of the late Jacob Preston Lesh and Lottie (Bealor) Lesh.
Her husband, George Zinn, preceded her in death in 1991. She was the last of her siblings, being preceded in death by her
brothers, Elmer Lesh and George Lesh, and sisters, Esther Latchford and Grace Adams.
Hulda is survived by: her two daughters, Corrine Jones and husband, Edward, of Naperville, Ill., and Paula Kennedy and her,
husband, Michael, of Lewistown; her grandchildren, Kay Selin and her husband, Keith, Edward Jones Jr., Cynthia Steele and
husband, Doug, Daniel Searer, Nathan Searer and Matthew Searer; eight great-grandchildren, Jeremy and Breanne Selin,
Jacqueline and Alex Steele, and Jackson, Lily, Jacob and James Owen Searer.
Hulda, fondly known in the Valley View community as Grandma, always had a cheerful smile and a happy hello for everyone.
She enjoyed taking care of her family, gardening, baking and working hard every day.
She was a 1925 graduate of Newport High School and attended Cumberland Valley State Normal School, now known as
Shippensburg University. She was a graduate of the Carlisle Business School, and a Methodist by faith.
She loved to relate the story of being rocked in the cradle by Native Americans who had escaped from the Carlisle Indian School.
The escapees were secretly harbored in her father's barn.
Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 27, at Valley View Haven Chapel, in Belleville, with the Rev. Galen Sharp
officiating. Interment will be at Juniata Memorial Park. A viewing will be held at 1:30 p.m. until the time of the service.
