ELKHART- Mildred F. Bloom, 93, of Elkhart, died at 3:318 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2012, at Golden Living Center.
She was born Nov. 29, 1918 in Elkhart to Samuel & Gertrude (Flowers) Oakes.
On June 27, 1937 in Elkhart she married Gerald Bloom. He preceded her in death on July 11, 1978 in Elkhart.
Surviving is a son, Gregory (Susan) Bloom of Lewiston, Maine, a daughter, Brenda Madrid of Moore, OK, 4 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, 1 son, Lcpl Steven Bloom, one brother, Leonard Oakes and a sister, Maxine Lindley.
Mildred was a homemaker and a great mom who loved the Lord. She was a longtime member of the First Brethren Church.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Thursday at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday at Rice Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to the First Brethren Church.
