Marie Arning Manns, Resided at Fin and Feather Resort, in Gore, Oklahoma until her passing at the age of 95 years old. She left this life on January 24, 2012. Marie was Born on May 11, 1916 in Nowata, Oklahoma to Otis and Cora Sigler. Marie was the little sister of three older brothers, Virgil, James and Vintian.
She attended Elementary and Junior High School in Chelsea, Oklahoma and High School in Nowata.
On April 16, 1936, Marie married Alfred Arning in Chelsea Oklahoma. Together they had one son. They lived in Oklmulgee, Oklahoma. In 1967 they moved to Gore, and Marie began working for Griffin Foods of Muskogee until Retirement.
Marie and Alfred were happily married until Alfred Passed away in August of 1985. Marie and Alfred were a long time members of the Gore United Methodist Church. After retiring from Griffin Foods Marie began working in the gift shop of Fin and Feather Resort and On
October 16, 1990 Marie began another chapter of her life when she married Les Manns of Fin and Feather Resort, who had been widowed by his first wife. Marie was welcomed into the Fin Family where she continued to live and work until her passing. Marie was always known for her sweet and gentle spirit, strong faith in God and dedication to GUMC, and the immense pride and pleasure she got from her most passionate hobby, "great-grandmothering".
Survived by two daughter-in-laws; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; nephew; a host of friends and extended family.
She was preceded In death by Husband Alfred Arning, Son Fred Arning, Husband Les Manns, brothers James, Virgil and Vintian Sigler.
The Memorial Service for Marie will be held on Friday, January 27, at 10:00 AM at the Gore United Methodist Church which is Located at 4th and Winn in Gore, Oklahoma. There will also be a brief Internment Service at the Nowata Memorial Park Cemetery at 3:00 PM later that day, where she will be laid to rest next to husband Alfred Arning.
Funeral Arrangements will be handled by Hart Funeral Home in Tahlequah, Oklahoma.
Marie Requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Gore United Methodist Church: PO Box 273, in Gore, Oklahoma, 74435.
