Born Nov. 12, 1929, in Heltonville, he was the son of Earl and Eva (Sowder) Norman.
He was a teacher of biology, physical education and health at Oolitic High School for many years, and of the Protestant faith.
He was a veteran of the Korean War. He enjoyed traveling, music and his family.
Survivors include his lifelong companion, June Yeskie of Bedford; three sons, William ("Butch"), Troy and Pat Yeskie; a special buddy, Matthew Yeskie; three brothers, Junior Norman, Larry Norman and wife Brenda all of Heltonville, and Keith Norman and wife Joyce of Conroe, Texas; three sisters, Helen Richardson of Unionville, Joan Bailey and Colleen Perry both of Bedford; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Roy, Harold, Dale and Paul; two brothers-in-law; and four sisters-in-law,
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary. Burial will follow in the Meadows Church of God Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. on Friday at the mortuary.
