Jesse W. Skinner, 86, pioneer settler of Cormant township, died Thursday at the Lake Julia Rest Home. Mr. Skinner was born August 8, 1870, at Richland Center, Wis., the son of Abner and Annette Skinner. He came with his parents to Buckman, Morrison county Minn. as a child. On January 21, 1897, he was married to Mary Kienow of Buckman at Little Falls, Minn. They moved to Saum in 1914.

Mr. Skinner had a severe stroke in 1950 from which he never recovered. He was taken to the Lake Julia Rest Home on August 7, 1956. He passed away on January 31, 1957 at the age of 86 years, 5 months and 23 days.

He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, Mary; three daughters, Mrs. Oliver Jones (Sylvia), Renville, Minn., Mrs. Gladys Mathis, Springfield, Ill., Mrs. Al Prifogle (Dorothy), Connersville, Ind.; two sons, Glenn of Minneapolis and Richard of Saum. Two brothers also survive, Homer of Portland, Ore., and Ralph of New York Mills, Minn. Also 14 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
