Columbus Monroe Evans of Benton died today Feb. 5, 1987 . He was 90. He was born March 18,1897 in Evans Place, Alpine township, Clark Co. Arkansas. Son of David Monroe and Eula Jennetta Fendley Evans. He was a retired mill supertendent for Neimyers Mills and was a member of Oak Grove Methodist Church at Amity.

Survivors include his wife, Nora Drye Evans: two sons, Elmer S. Evans of Benton and D. D. Evans of North little Rock: one stepson Buddy Drye of Benton; one daughter, Cleodia Evans of Benton: four stepdaughters, Sue Holiman, Geraldine Stuckey, Linda Montaivo and Darlene Holiman. all of Benton; one brother, Johnny Evans of Glenwood; three sisters, Pearl Pariridge of Hot Springs, Myrtie Caldwell of Washington and Eva Mae Byrd of California; four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, five stepgrandchildren and 11 stepgreat- grandchildren.

Funeral will be 2 p. m. Saturday at Ashby Funeral Chapel with the Rev. L. D. Campbell officiating. Burial will be in Pinecrest memorial Park. Grandsons will be pallbearers.
