Anna J. Knobbs, 87, of LaHarpe, Illinois died at 4:15 p.m. Friday, July 26, 1991, at the LaHarpe Davier Health Care Center.

Born Dec. 7, 1903, in Colmar to Franklin L. "Frank" and Myrtle Ruth Stutsman Alton, she married Kenneth Knobbs on May 5, 1926, in LaHarpe. He survives.

Also surviving are one son, Bill of LaHarpe; three daughters, Mrs. Vern (Annabelle) Lovell of Cantrall, Mrs. Jack (Betty) Atkinson of New Berlin and Mrs. Tom (Kathleen) Dorch of Yorba Linda, Calif.; one sister, Bernice Umbricht of Macomb; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one brother.

A Springfield resident from 1950 to 1971, she taught for one year near LaHarpe and later worked as a dietician at St. John's Hospital and Memorial Medical Center, both in Springfield.

She was a member of the LaHarpe United Methodist Church and its United Methodist Women. She also was a member of the LaHarpe Thimble Club.

Burial will be in the LaHarpe Cemetery.
