Mr. J. Andrew "Andy" Townsend, 94, of Acworth passed away Monday, May 3, 2004. Services will be 11:00 A.M., Wednesday in the Chapel of West Cobb Funeral Home, with the Rev. Howard Crowe and Dr. Richard Walker officiating. A native of Paulding County, Mr. Townsend had lived in Atlanta and was a longtime resident of Cobb County. He was a member of Macland Baptist Church and was a longtime Atlanta Pontiac Salesman with Tabor and Boomershine. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs Pearl Townsend and had been married 70 years before her death in January in January 2003. He is survided by sons and daughters in-law,Jack and Pat Townsend of Acworth, Jerry and Charlene Townsend of Powder Springs, sister, Mrs Frances Thomason of Dallas, six grandchildren, Jackie McBee, Danny Townsend, Melanie Moody, Connie Austin, Cheryl Handley, Greg Townsend, nine grandchildren, Lindsay Moody, Alyssa Handley, Kyle Townsend, Hadley Townsend, Miranda Handley, Tyler Austin, Ben Austin, Conner Handley, Charlize Townsend. The family will receive friends at he funeral home, Tuesday from 5:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M. West Cobb Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
