Robert F. Fulford, 91, Martinsville, died at 6:15 a.m. November 16, 2004, at Morgantown.

The son of the late Robert E. and Elmira (Martin) Fulford, he was born March 10, 1913, in Monroe County. He was the widower of Mary E. (Clendenen) Fulford, whom he married Aparil 20, 1936. She died Nov. 28, 1992.

Fulford was a farmer all of his life. He also retired in 1981 from Glover Contracting Company in Kentucky, where he worked for 10 years in construction. He drove a school bus for the Metropolitan School District of Martinsville for three years and served as treasurer of the school board, where he was active for nearly eight years in the 1950s.

He was a member of Zion's Hill Baptist Church, Martinsville; Baker Township Farm Bureau; Baker Township Survelliance Club and served as Baker Township Trustee from 1951-1958.

Survivors include three daughters, Martha Loop, Morgantown, and town daughters, Sharon Smith and Karen Walker, both of Trafalgar; a son, Bill J. Fulford, Martinsville; five grandchildren, Randy Fulford, Cori Loop, Michelle and Whitney Walker, and Devon Smith, and three great-grandchildren.

Seven sisters, Iva Goodwin, LaDonna Goble, Martha and Mary Brummett, Hallie Preston, and Thelma and Pauline Fulford, and two brothers, Homer and Maurice Fulford, also preceded him in death.

The service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Neal & Summers Mortuary in Martinsville. The Rev. Robert Yount will officiate. Burial will be in Nebo Memorial Park Cemetery in Martinsville.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Friday.
