GEORGE WILLIAM SHEPHERD JR. George William Shepherd Jr., president of Shepherd Sales and Service, died Saturday at his home. He was 76. Mr. Shepherd was born in Graham, N.C., and lived in New Orleans for the past 48 years. He graduated from North Carolina State University with a bachelor's degree in engineering. He was a member of Sigma Chi, Metairie Country Club, Beau Chene Country Club, Semreh Club, World Trade Center and other professional and charitable organizations. He was an Air Force lieutenant during World War II. Survivors include his wife, Gene Coyner Shepherd; a son, Billy Shepherd of Houston; a daughter, Brenda Shepherd Moore of Metairie; a brother, Bud Shepherd of Graham; two sisters, Dorothy Shepherd Sizemore and Betty Shepherd Futrell, both of Graham; and six grandchildren. Funeral services will be private. Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
