Alfred Crittenden Hill
Born in Alabama his family moved to Texas when he was a small child, first settling in Emblem,Hopkins County,Texas then in 1906 they moved to a farm near Davidson,Tillman County,Oklahoma. He grew up on that farm in southwest Oklahoma with his loving parent's and a passell of brother's and sister's. He was many thing's in life but most of all he was a Christian who loved God with all his heart. He had three beautiful daughter's who he spoiled rotten. He was kind, gentle and soft spoken man. He was a Inventor, Bakery owner,cafe owner,cook (this he loved to do with all his heart) and many other things. As a young man he did hard farm labor and was a camp cook for the drover's at Doan's crossing.He married Lula Elzada Brock in Wilbarger county Texas. Both he and her and one small daughter Phateamae Lamoin had went to Konawa,Seminole County Oklahoma to work on the farm with her family when the year of no summer came and it snowed in June and July 1918, during April of that year they had another daughter Alma Lavelle. The summer being foul they traveled back to Wilbarger county Texas and there he worked until the Spring, The 4 of them then hitched up the horse to the wagon and went back to Konawa Oklahoma to again work thru the summer, that year the big Influenza Epidemic hit the United States and several folk's in the house got sick, he and his wife among them, his loving wife the mother of his children passed away and he was left with two young daughter's, one not yet 3 yr's old the other almost 1 yr old. The girl's were taken back to to their mother's parent's farm near Farmer's Valley Texas until their Dad was well enough to follow the following Jan of 1920. After the passing of his wife he traveled around the country in a wagon selling knives, pot's and pan's and various other sundries doing all he could to feed his children. In 1922 while at the court house filing one of his patent's he met a young court stenographer named Cecelia Johnnie Johnson they dated for a few years, she fell in love with his daughter's and they as well loved her so much. In Dec 1924 they decided to get married, it was a Christmas surprise present that Cecelia and he had planned for the girl's. After the wedding they traveled to Colorado for their honeymoon upon arriving home they both came down with double pneumonia, Cecelia passed away in Jan 1925 just short of being married for one mo., this left him devestated and he turned to alcohol to chase away his trouble's. Cecelia's dad was a wealthy man and helped him get started in the Bakery and Jukebox bussiness. one day while collecting money from the machine's he had all over Texas,Oklahoma and New Mexico he met Cosette Louise Craver, he and her married 27 Dec 1929 Bryan County, Oklahoma. He made a fortune in his business's by the time of the great depression he was a millionare, losing almost all in the depression he became a wealthy man again in the bakery and Jukebox Business, he had bakery's in Vernon Texas, Pampa texas,as well as several small town's and Colorado Spring's Co. during the great depression he told his employee's if someone comes in an can't afford the bread give it away free for it is God's will . He and Cosette made money in Bakery's,Cafe's,stock's, bond's and investments. they had one daughter together named Marie Louise Hill in 1932. One day in about 1947 after years of battling alcoholism for year's, his oldest daughter's ask him to pray with them, after that prayer he got up and never touched alcohol again! he and Cosette served the Lord the rest of their lives.

He had so many invention's it would be impossible to list them all here, Thing's like butter egg bread, Denver dog,Twin cronnie, Denver gold nugget's, the process to keep bread from going stale,fishing equipment,his own bread slicer's, Chili blend,A vast amount of recipes, his own Meat tenderizer sauce,a number of different processes for the preparation of baking bread and on and on.
