Clair W. Jones

Clair W. Jones, 77, died Thursday, January 29, in Lebanon Veterans Administration Medical Center. In ill health for 13 years, he was hospitalized the last ten months.

A son of the late David and Rebecca Wean Jones, he was born in Donaldson.

A retired administrator for Rest Haven, he was an employee of Schuylkill County for 45 years, having worked in the controller's office, commissioners' office and Veterans Administration office.

He was elected second vice president of Pennsylvania Association of County Hospital Administrators in 1971. Mr. Jones was a Republican Party committeeman for many years.

An Army veteran of World War II, he served with an anti-aircraft division in the European theatre of operations.

Jones was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Donaldson; a 56 year member of Swatara Lodge 267 F&AM, Tremont, and Brennan-Keip American Legion Post 384, Tremont.

Survivors include his wife, Mildred R. Rose Jones; a nephew, John C. Davis, Columbia, Maryland; a niece, Mildred Shatzer, Mechanicsburg.

Funeral services were held Monday from W. E. Minnig Funeral Home, Tremont. The Rev. David Bluhm officiated. Burial was in Donaldson Community Cemetery.
