Anita was a founding member of Sacred Heart Altar Society. Anita was extremely active and a lifelong member of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. Her life revolved around the church and family.
Anita was preceded in death by her husband, Tony V. Martínez, daughters, Viola Teresa Martínez, Evangeline Baca, daughter-in-law, Mary M. Martínez, granddaughter, Annabelle Martínez-Wooten, parents, Candido and Rafaelita Salazar, paternal parents, Adam and Elaiza Martínez, sisters, Antonia (Santiago) Frésquez, Lugardita (Manuel D.) Rodríguez and María (Alfredo) Vigil, brothers, Enríque (Adelaida) Salazar and Lupito Salazar, brothers-in-law, Henry (Margaret) Martínez, Ramon "Tito" (Ruperta) Martínez and José (Dora) Martínez, sisters-in-law, Aurora (Carlos) Martínez, Celina (Barnabe) Herrera, Josephine (Meliton) García, Ruby (Joe) Rubidoeaux and Ernestine (Ben) Mitchell and several nieces and nephews.
Anita is survived by her son, Richard (R.A.) Martínez, grandchildren, Rodolfo (Arlene) Baca, Carlos Baca, Joaquin (Mindy) Baca, María Carmen Vahtel, Javier (Beth) Baca, Kevin Wooten and Charlene Baca, son-in-law, Deacon Rudolph (Juanita) Baca, great-grandchildren, Angelica, Stephanie, Estevan, Isaac, Sophia, Mariana, Mikaela, Lilia and Samantha Baca, E'lan and Eryn Wooten and many nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives and friends.
Public visitation will be held on Thursday, January 26, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Española with a Rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 27, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church with burial to follow at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers, Rodolfo Baca, Joaquin Baca, Maria Vahtel, Javier Baca, Danny Otero, Kevin Wooten and Carlos Baca.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Sacred Heart Society.
