Bert Mathias Rowlett, 71, West Linn, a resident of the Oregon City area for 40 years died today in Oregon City following a short illness. Funeral services will be Friday at 1:30 p.m., in Hillside Chapel with the Rev. Leo Epperson officiating. Burial will be at Mr. View Cemetery. Mr. Rowlett was born April 16, 1894, in Warnerville, Neb. Mr. Rowlett had been employed by Crown-Zellerbach in West Linn. Married in Madison, Wis., the Rowletts observed their 50th wedding anniversary June 9, 1965. President of the Mt. Pleasant Booster Club, Mr. Rowlett was also a member of the Christian church and Neighbor of Woodcraft Local 68. Surviving are the widow, Lydia; one son, Clair Rowlett, Oregon City; three brothers, Lloyd Rowlett, Sterling, Alaska; Goerge Rowlett, Aurora; and Warren Rowlett, Bend; one sister, Mrs. Allen Wallace, Bend; and 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
