ABE LOWEN RITE AT CHURCH TODAY

The funeral for Abe M. Lowen, 65, was to be held today at 2 p.m. in St. George Orthodox Church on Court Street with the Rev. Fr. Gerasimus Murphy officiating, and burial was to be in Sunset Memorial Park.

Mr. Lowen of 2006 Piedmont Road, retired grocer who formerly operated Lowen Market in Kanawha City, died Thursday in St. Francis Hospital after an illness of eight months.

Until he became ill and returned to Charleston, Mr. Lowen had been making his home in Marathon, Florida, where he managed the Moose Lodge. He was a member of St. George Church, and belonged to the Moose and Commercial Travelers Lodges.

Surviving: daughters, Mrs. Delores Wigglesworth of Huntington, Mrs. Deanna Spitzer of Alexandria, Virginia, Miss Mary Lowen of Charleston, and the Misses Gloria and Yvonne Lowen of Detroit; sister, Mrs. Rusmia Thabet of South Charleston; brothers, Saber Lowen and Tennell Lowen of Charleston.
