Ray Doland Howser, 78, of Kaiser died Tuesday, March 15, 2005, at Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach. He was born Jan. 29, 1927, in Barnett to Thomas Jefferson and Gladys Miller Wilson Howser. On Dec. 13, 1952, he was married in Eldon to Wanda June Jeffries who survives at the home.

Mr. Howser was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He worked for Stanton Novelty, Western Auto in Camdenton, Brown Construction in Osage Beach and Twehous Construction in Taos, retiring in 1992. He was baptized at an early age and was a member of the Iberia First Baptist Church.

Also surviving him are a son and his wife, Ed and Valerie Howser of Kaiser; two brothers, Charles Karr of the state of Michigan and Howard Karr of Kansas City; four sisters, Joretta Allee of Jackson, Donna Sue Wisner of Collins, Emma Bishop and Eula Mae Powell, both of the state of Colorado; and two granddaughters, Jennifer Phillips of Osage Beach and Kathryn Howser of Kaiser.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia and from 1-2 p.m. Saturday at Riverview Baptist Church in Osage Beach. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Riverview Baptist Church in Osage Beach with the Rev. Chuck Phillips officiating. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery near Kaiser. Memorials may be made to the Lake Regional Hospital Cancer Center.
