PROVO--Mrs. Mary Margaret Hinckley Smith, 42, wife of Henry V. Smith, Provo business man, died Monday at the family residence, [illegible] West Center Street, from complications following childbirth.
Mrs. Smith was born December 17, 1891 in Bountiful, a daughter of Ira N. and Margaret Hinckley. She attended the Bountiful schools and was married to Mark Carter [George Hyrum Carter] August 16, 1919 [1910]. They were later divorced and she was married to Mr. Smith here November 21, 1931. Mrs. Smith operated a confectionary [confectionery] in Bountiful prior to her first marriage and later was clerk at the D. L. Van Wagenen dry goods store her several years.
Besides her husband she is survived by a 5-day-old son and a daughter, Myrle Carter of Provo; also her mother, Mrs. Margaret Hinckley, Nephi; and 10 brothers and sisters, Mrs. W. A. Ray, Mrs. L. Holbrook, Ira N. and Alonzo Hinckley, Los Angeles, Cal.; Mrs. Della Mace, Davis, Cal.; Lucian Hinckley, Kaysville; Mrs. Nellie Robison, Moapa, Nev.; Dr. E. F. Hinckley, Ely, Nev.; and Samuel Hinckley, Ogden.
