....We are sorry to state the sad news of the death of John Alexander, which occurred Sunday morning about 3 o'clock. John was a good man nearly 35 years old. He was never married, lived with his parents. He leaves father, mother, two sisters, one brother. All were present at his death. John had pneumonia about a year ago. from which he never recovered. John was a god (sic) boy. He worked hard and saved up quite a bank account. His funeral was held at the house by Rev. L. C. Mauck of Quincy on Monday, March 13th, after which his remains were laid in the cemetery at Old Antioch....
