The funeral of James Henry Wadsworth, who died last week of flu, at his home southwest of Alta, was held from the Presbyterian church last Thursday afternoon, under Masonic auspices. Rev J. E. Bloomqulst was in charge of the services.

Mr Wadsworth was born in Boone county. Ill., on July 7, 1850, the son of Ariel and Amelia Wright Wadsworth. He was 87 years, two months and 20 days of age when he died.

He enlisted in the Union army of the civil war on March 28. 1865 but was discharged on account of ill health on May 26. 1865.

On February 10, 1869 he was married to Flora Wadsworth and to them two sons were born: George H., who died in early manhood, and Frank who survives the father and mother. There are also four grandchildren, George, Wesley, Leslie and Evelyn Wadsworth, and two sisters, Mrs. D. C Robbins of Stillman Valley, Ill., and Mrs. George White of Ames. Ia.

Mr. Wadsworth was a war private in Co. B. 92nd Illinois Infantry. He was raised to the Master Mason degree in Meridian Lodge No. E05 on April 3, 1875 at Holcombe, Ill., and in 1879 he demoted to Pomegranate Lodge No. 408 at Alta, being a charter member of the local order. In 1934 he was awarded a certificate of Masonic membership for half a century.
