Gladys Lucille (Nelson) Larson, 71, of Sioux City, died Tuesday, Feb. 10, at a Sioux City hospital following a long courageous battle with leukemia. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with Rev. Dr. Allen Call officiating. Burial is in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Larson was born Nov. 7, 1932, in Modale, Harrison County, Iowa, daughter of Nels G. & Cora (Brown) Nelson. She married Ned R. Larson on Nov. 6, 1951, in Jackson, Minnesota. She was a Sioux City resident for more than 50 years. She was baptized in the Logan Christian Church in Logan, Harrison County, Iowa.

She was an avid long time gardener and raised house plants for Earl May Garden Center. She also enjoyed cooking.

She survived by her beloved husband Ned; two sons, Gary and wife, Jodie of Sioux City, Jim and wife Kathy, of Shenandoah, Iowa; two daughters, Connie Nolen of Sioux City, Cheryl(Neal) Derochie of Sioux City; brother, Carl & wife, Helen Nelson of Council Bluff, IA; two sisters, Norma and husband, Court Oviatt of Logan, IA, and Pauline Stueve of Sioux City; six grandchildren, Jennifer Neuendorf, Mark Nolen, Ranee Larson, Tyker Nelson, Mitchell and Anna Larson; great-granddaughter, Makenna Neuendorf.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Harry Nelson; two sisters, Anna Wilson , Mary Knudtson; and brother-in-law, Gerald Stueve.
