Mansfield -- Alvin Preston Birdwell, 67, of Marthaville died Friday in a Natchitoches hospital after a long illness.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today in Jennings Chapel Congregational Methodist Church with the Rev. Foster Jennings officiating. Burial will be in Bethany Church Cemetery under the direction of Drewett Funeral Home of Mansfield.
Survivors include his wife, Susie Jennings Birdwell of Marthaville; one son, Marlin Birdwell of Huntsville, Texas; two daughters, Delores Feazell of Florence, Miss, and Ramona Birdwell of Houston, Texas; his mother Mrs. Lottie Birdwell of Marthaville; nine brothers, Luther Birdwell, Hoyt Birdwell, Raymond Birdwell, Harvey Birdwell, Herman Birdwell, Vernon Birdwell, Wilmer Birdwell and Harold Birdwell, all of Marthaville, and Odell Birdwell of Shreveport; and eight grandchildren.
