W. F. Wood, 71, Taken by Death; Rites Scheduled

William F. Wood, 71, of 19039 Karen Dr., passed away suddenly at his home Wednesday afternoon following a heart attack. A native of Colonia Juarez, Mexico, he had been a Salinas resident for the past two years and was a former San Jose resident. He was a retired carpenter. A member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Ward 2, he and his wife had been engaged in stake missionary work for the church in this area for the past six months.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Norma Wood; a daughter, Mrs. Orvel L. Dougherty of Salinas; three grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Rosalie Johnson of Mesa, Ariz., and Mrs. Robert Cox of Albuquerque, N. M.; three brothers, Lee F. Wood and Enos F. Wood of Mexico and John F. Wood of Mesa, Ariz. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 10 a.m. from the Struve and Laporte funeral chapel with interment in Oak Hill Memorial Park, San Jose.
