GEORGE SATERN RITES HELD AT OTTOSEN
OTTOSEN - Funeral services for George Satern were held Monday afternoon, Feb. 27, at Trinity Lutheran church in Ottosen, the Rev. Harold Mountain in charge.
George Satern, son of the late Mr. and Mrs John Satern, was born at Ottosen, Iowa, Nov. 8, 1893. at Emmetsburg Memorial Hospital Feb. 24, at the age of 62.
He was baptized and confirmed at t. Olaf Lutheran Church at Bode. All but the past 15 years of his life was spent in the Ottosen community. He attended the local schools and business college at HIghland Prk, Des Moines, Iowa.
On April 4, 1920 he was united in marriage with Bertha Enockson and three children were born to this union: Gladys, Mrs Howard Chism now of Cylinder; Maurice of Rochestr, Minn. and Vincent of Estherville.
He suffered a stroke five weeks ago, from which he never recovered. His wife, parents and two sisters preceded him in death. He leaves to mourn his passing his three children, four grandchildren and six sisters and five brothers, Mrs L. F Worstr, Rolfe; Mrs A. M. Seamen, Detroit, MIch.; Mrs EArle Cobb, West Bend; Mrs Ernest Ryderberg, New Lenox, Ill; Mrs Burtis Eastman, Orion, Ill; Mrs Roy Enockson, Ottosen; Carl at Emmetsburg; Henry of Livermore; John of Independence; Thorston of West Bend; and Oscar of Jamestown, N.D.
Short funeral services were held at Ellsworth Funeral Home at Emmetsburg and at Trinity Lutheran CHurch at Ottosen. He was laid to rest at Union Cemetery at Ottosen.
Pallbearers were James Satern, Robert Sater, Laurel Worster, Ernest Enockson, Harold Berge and Virgil Enockson. All are nephews of the deceased.
Mrs Ed Nesson of West Bend was soloist, Mrs MErle Holt was pianist and Mrs DeVere Newton and Mrs Knut Oppedahl had charge of the floral arrangements.
